Developed activity-based training courses by working with SMEs, instructional designers, and graphic artists. Course deliverables included integrated sets of participant manuals, instructor guides and PowerPoint presentations structured to reduce text redundancy.
Traveled extensively throughout the Eastern US to document Waste Management’s billing system, with some remote work performed remotely. Captured and documented processes in real-time with Word and SnagIt screen capture as complex billing functions were executed. As a lead writer, managed document revisions and edited for content, format, and clarity.
Wrote and edited procedures to maintain and enhance the Jacobs/Sverdrup Marshall Space Flight Center Group’s online Quality System. Led the Group’s conversion effort from the ISO 1996 Standard to the 2000 Standard. Designed and presented training to more than 400 employees on new standard’s impact on the Group. Directed internal audits and coordinated external audits. Supported Group by designing and editing PowerPoint presentations and Safety Program training materials.
Contract position. Created technical documentation about telecommunications hardware. Responsible for developing the system manual and marketing literature for the company’s Total Access 3000 System, which delivers digital services including HDSL, T1 and ISDN. Participated in proposal package creation.
Editor for a 16-page monthly corporate newsletter with a worldwide readership targeting corporate stockholders, customers, members of the financial community, and employees. Responsibilities included interfacing with personnel at all levels to collect information; writing business articles for 21 domestic and overseas SCI plants; and newsletter design and layout.
Led department transition to desktop publishing using digitized photos and embedded graphics. Supervised contract technical writers in production of OEM personal computer user’s guides. Before assuming Editor’s position in December 1994, generated two OEM personal computer user’s guides and provided general technical writing support to Plants 2 and 3.
Designed, wrote, tested and maintained hardcopy and online documentation for Intergraph mechanical design products. Coordinated document review process between software development, production planning, training, support and certification staffs. Edited and tested. Selected to produce Intergraph/Motif User Interface Standards document, which involved participation in interdepartmental meetings, coordinating committee member input, and resolving conflicts.
