Having lived on a farm nearly all of her life, Claudia Tucker’s values are founded in hard-work.
She understands what it takes raise a family, be a successful business leader, and bring good-
paying jobs to rural Virginia.
After graduating from VCU, Claudia started her first Virginia business - a beef cattle farm in
Southside Virginia. She then went on to become one of the first women hired at Philip Morris -
rising to
Distribution Manager where she was responsible for over $1 billion in inventory and over 250
employees. Now, Claudia works as the Senior Director of State Government Affairs for Medco Health
Solutions, a Fortune 50 company.
Protecting Taxpayers in Southside Virginia...
While serving as Chairman of the Amherst County Board of Supervisors, the Board balanced the budget
without any tax or fee increases. Claudia has worked tirelessly to cut wasteful spending at the county level,
eliminating wasteful programs and departments.

Fortune 50 Companies to running a working family farm; Claudia knows firsthand the effects that policies

Family, Farming, and Life in Amherst County...
In 1996, Claudia married Bill Tucker and together, they have raised three daughters - Taylor, Ruth, and
Avery - on their 7th generation family farm in Amherst County where they are active members of Amherst
Presbyterian Church.
Claudia is a former Member of the Amherst County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, past-Vice
President of the Amherst County Farm Bureau, Member of the American Forage and Grasslands Council,
as well as a Member of the Amherst/Nelson Beef Producers.
